Rare antique German bisque head doll made by Schoenau & Hoffmeister (Burggrub) ca. 1931-1933. The doll stands ca. 17" (43 cm) tall. Her bisque head is marked "Porzellanfabrik Burggrub Princess Elizabeth 3½ Made in Germany". Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The Princess Elizabeth doll was modelled on the Queen Elizabeth II in 1929 when she was aged three. Original blonde mohair wig, sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism, her original lid paint is in a good condition, an open mouth with 4 teeth. Unfortunately she has lost her natural eyelashes. Original wooden and composition body in good condition. Her body has some areas of age-related wear. The doll wears a cotton dress, a straw hat and original cloth shoes. A string of beads. (3513)
