Antique German Bisque Head Doll Johann Daniel Kestner 226

Rare antique German bisque head doll made by Johann Daniel Kestner ca. 1910-1912. Mold number 226. The doll stands ca. 17.7" (45 cm) tall. Her bisque head has no visible damage. Original hard plaster pate, never been removed. The head is marked "Germany Z J.D.K.Z 226". The pate will be carefully removed before packing the doll. Blue glass eyes with fully operational eye mechanism and original lid paint. Open mouth with 2 teeth. Original mohair wig is glued to the pate. His composition and wood baby body is in good condition. The body has some areas of age-related wear. This cute baby wears antique clothing, a cotton a bodysuit, lace blouse, and lace bonnet. The shoes are made of oilcloth. The baby is holding a plush toy kitten.
