Antique German bisque head doll made by Heinrich Handwerck ca. 1895-1900. Her bisque head is by Simon & Halbig. The doll stands 29" (74 cm) tall. The head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "Germany Heinrich Handwerck Simon & Halbig 6". Glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism and original lid paint. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Original mohair wig. Pierced earlobes with earrings. Early wooden and composition body with round loose ball joints at the shoulders in very good condition, with red stamped "Heinrich Handwerck 9" mark. The doll wears antique, maybe original clothing, white batiste dress, a bonnet, cotton underwear, antique oilcloth shoes. (2084)
