Rare antique German doll, her bisque head is made by Simon & Halbig ca. 1894-1898 for the French market Mold number 1159, also known as Gibson Girl. The doll is ca. 17" (43 cm) tall. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "1159 Germany Simon Halbig S&H 6". Glass eyes with fully operational eye mechanism, original lid paint. Unfortunately she has lost some of her natural original eyelashes. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Pierced ears. An original mohair wig. Original French wood and composition body in good condition according to the doll's age. Her body has some areas of age-related wear. This amazing doll wears old and antique clothing, a silk dress with lace, a silk hat, a boa made of swan down, cotton underwear. Leather shoes.
