Antique German bisque head doll made by Johann Daniel Kestner ca. 1897. The doll stands ca. 15.7" (40 cm) tall. The head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "154 DEP 5 made in Germany".
Blue glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism, original lid paint. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Original human hair wig. Some minor and typical wig pulls around the crown rim. Her leather body is in good condition. Some restoration in the shoulder area. Her hands are made of bisque. Her left thumb has a small chip. Cloth lower legs. The doll wears antique clothing, very fine batiste underclothes with some small holes, cotton dress decorated with lace. An old velvet hat. Original black stockings, leather shoes.
