Early rare antique German wax over papier-maché doll ca. 1860-1880. Her head is unmarked. This doll is ca. 17 inches (44 cm) tall. Her papier-mache head with shoulder plate is covered with wax.
The doll has blue glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism. Original mohair wig which is glued to her head. The doll has a cloth stuffed body and composition arms and legs. The legs with molded shoes. The body with no leakage of sawdust.
This elegant lady wears antique clothing, cotton underclothes, a thin wool dress with some velvet and a bonnet. Antique accessories: а metal brooch and a bag.
