Rare antique German bisque head doll made ca. 1880-1885. The manufacturer is unknown, as markings are absent, which is common for such early dolls. Marked with size "2". The doll stands ca 11" (28 cm) tall. She has a belton type head with three holes. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. She has a "mole" – a black dot on her forehead which occurred at the time of firing. Blue glass fixed eyes. Closed mouth. Vintage mohair wig. Pierced ears. Original wood and composition body in good condition according to the doll's age. No repair. Her body has some areas of age-related wear. The clothing is antique, consisting of a lace dress, cotton underwear, a silk hat, and leather shoes.
