Antique wax doll made ca. 1880-1890. The doll stands ca 14" (36 cm) tall. Her head with shoulder plate, legs and arms are made from composition and are covered with hard wax. Very fine facial features. Although some of the facial wax has been worn off over the past century, she is still as lovely as can be! The wax is in good condition. Blue glass fixed eyes. Her mohair wig is glued to the head. Original cloth body in good condition. Legs with molded shoes. The doll wears antique, maybe original clothing,a red cotton skirt, a white blouse, a black apron with pockets, cotton underclothes, a woolen bonnet.
