Very rare antique German Doll made by Hermann Wegner (Sonneberg) ca. 1893-1898 in limited numbers. The doll has two different replaceable heads. The heads are made of composition. Original wood and composition body. On the back of the doll there is an elastic band with a hook, on which the head clings. The head is placed on a cylindrical pin. The doll stands ca. 11.8" (30 cm) tall. Both heads are in good condition, glass eyes. Original mohair wigs are glued to the heads. The doll has a set of antique clothing, underclothes, two dresses, a batiste apron, a bonnet, a cape with a hood. Leather shoes. The doll is from a private English collection. The heads are signed by the previous owner and bear a name Mary and Patsy.
