A magnificent antique German musical mechanical automaton from the Zinner & Söhne factory, approximately dating from 1895–1900. The platform is wooden and covered with paper on the top. Base dimensions: 42 x 27 cm (16.5 x 10.6 inches). The total height, including the dolls, is 34 cm (13.4 inches). The base features five dolls with bisque heads, all intact with no damage, cracks, or chips. They have fixed eyes and mohair wigs. The dolls' legs are made of composite material, and their arms are wooden. The condition of the automaton is very good. The mechanism is functional: when the lever on the front panel is turned, music plays, and the musician dolls, seated on wooden chairs, lift their arms as if playing instruments. Small child dolls in the foreground spin and dance. The seated dolls measure 19 cm (7.5 inches), while the smaller child dolls are 13 cm (5.1 inches) tall. The dolls wear antique, original costumes.
