Rare antique German doll, her bisque head is made by Simon & Halbig ca. 1894-1898 for the French market Mold number 1159, also known as Gibson Girl. The doll is ca. 15.7" (40 cm) tall. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "1159 Germany Simon Halbig S&H 6". The bisque head has a chip in the rim area, which has been restored.
Glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism, original lid paint and original natural eyelashes. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Pierced ears. Antique human hair wig. The doll has a very rare and interesting body with a clearly defined and noticeable chest area, designed specifically for this model. The body is in good condition. Her body has some areas of age-related wear. This amazing bride doll wears a silk dress, either antique or made from antique materials, a veil with a wreath, antique underwear, and old leather shoes.
