Rare antique German bisque head doll made ca. 1894-1898 by Heinrich Handwerck. Her head is made by Simon & Halbig. Mold 1159 also known as Gibson Girl. The doll stands ca. 21.2" (54 cm) tall. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "1159 Germany Simon & Halbig 8 S&H".
This beautiful doll has beautiful brown glass sleep eyes with fully operational eyes mechanism, original lid paint and original eyelashes. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Pierced ears with earrings. Original mohair wig.
Her lady-shape composition body is in original condition, no repaint, no restoration. It has a red stamped "Heinrich Handwerck Germany" mark. The doll wears antique clothing, a silk dress, a bonnet, a stole and a muff. Cotton underclothes. Antique leather boots.
