Rare antique walking French bisque head doll made ca. 1892-1895. Her bisque head is made by Simon & Halbig for French company Roullet et Decamps, which specialized in automata and mechanical toys.
The doll is 24.4" (62 cm) tall. The bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "SH 1039 13".
Beautiful flirty glass eyes with a fully operational eye mechanism and original lid paint. Original eyelashes. Open mouth with teeth. Pierced ears with earrings. Old mohair wig. Wood and composition body in good condition with original body finish.
The doll is a so called Walking Doll with a fully operational key-wound mechanism. Original key with "RD" initials. While moving the doll makes sounds.
This charming doll wears old clothing, a silk dress, cotton underclothes, old oilcloth shoes.
