Antique French marotte bisque head doll made by Limoge bisque manufactory ca. late 19th – early 20th century. The bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "Limoges". The doll measures 12.6" (32 cm) long from top of head to bottom of handle.
Blue fixed glass eyes, open mouth with teeth. Original curly mohair wig. Pierced ears. Her wig and her hat are glued to the head.
Her torso contains a music box is in good condition. When twirled about, the marotte plays a merry tune and its costume panels swing. Works and sounds great! The ivory stick handle has a whistle carved in the end.
Her original costume is in good condition. There is some wear to the old fabric due to age but all in all it looks really nice.
