An amazing antique French bisque head doll made ca. 1870-1880 by Jules Nicholas Steiner. The doll stands ca 22.5" (57 cm) tall. The head is marked " Steiner Paris A 15". Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. Big beautiful French fixed glass eyes. Closed mouth. Pierced ears with earrings. An original pate, an old human hair wig. Original wood and composition body with a body stamp "Le Petit Parisien Bebe Steiner". Her body has some areas of age-related wear. The doll wears old clothes, a silk dress with lace, a straw hat with a bouquet of violets, leather shoes. A silver locket necklace with two photographs.
