Rare antique German bisque head doll made ca. 1880 by Johann Daniel Kestner. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is marked "VII". The doll stands 15.7" (40 cm) tall.
She has beautiful deep brown glass sleep eyes with fully operational eye mechanism and original lid paint. Closed mouth. Old maybe original human hair wig. Original hard plaster pate.
Early Kestner wood and composition loose-ball-jointed body in very good condition, no repair.
The doll wears antique clothing, cotton pale rose dress and cotton underclothes. Leather shoes. A fur boa and a fur muff. Her antique silk bonnet is also decorated with fur.
