This rare early German 17.3" (44 cm) wax over composition head doll is made ca. 1870-1880. The doll is unmarked. The doll with cloth stuffed body with composition head and shoulder plate covered with wax. There is a small scratch on her face. Blue fixed glass eyes, an open mouth with teeth. Pierced ears. Original mohair wig. Cloth body, composition arms and legs with molded shoes. Her body has some areas of age-related wear. This amazing doll wears antique, maybe original clothing.
