Here is a wonderful Antique French Automaton Fashion Doll made in the late 19th Century. Probably made by Francois Gaultier. The doll stands ca. 15" (38 cm) tall. Her bisque head is free of damage or repair, no cracks, chips or restoration. The head is unmarked, or maybe is hidden under her clothing. Amazing blue glass fixed eyes. Pierced earlobes with earrings. Open mouth with upper and lower teeth. French original cork pate, old blonde mohair wig. Her bisque hands are in excellent condition and have no damage.
Original key, fully operational key-wound mechanism, iron wheels. When keywound the doll “walks” and moves her arms up and down. There is a functioning voice mechanism in her torso, while moving the doll makes sounds. The automaton is in good and working condition.
